Our passion is growing entrepreneurial businesses. We focus on investing in mid-sized companies that are looking for a path to succession of ownership. We work directly with the leadership team to build a long term strategy that grows the business and secures the future of the team. We have been growing companies for nearly 50 years.
We have a broad portfolio of real-estate. Our directly owned real-estate is largely in the Canadian market. Many of these investments come from private business acquisitions. Our investments in other markets are through funds and REITs.
We hold a diversified portfolio of marketable securities. Our team of experts works with the best managers in the world to oversee these investments. This portfolio includes stocks, bonds, funds and other alternative strategies.
We have a responsibility as business leaders to invest in our communities and make our world a better place. We are active in supporting a wide variety of charitable foundations in health care, youth empowerment, and education.
For over 40 years, we have been growing international businesses with family values and great people.
For over 40 years, we have been growing international businesses with family values and great people.
Our founder began his journey with a pick up truck full of lobsters. Clearwater Seafoods (sold $1B) has now become Canada's largest fishing business. Colin's other entrepreneurial ventures include Ocean Nutrition (sold $500MM), Columbus Communications (sold $2.3B), and Cable & Wireless (sold $7.8B).
Our team has been built to handle every step from due diligence to strategy implementation. We believe that the most important asset of any company is its people. This culture trickles down to attract the best and brightest to HanMac and our investment businesses.
The values of the Hansen-MacDonald family guide our investment decisions and how we conduct business. We only seek partners who share the same appreciation of their team, customers and community. Alignment on these values is not optional.
